SPREADBETTING SEMINAR FEB 24th online **SOLD OUT*
For more details mail me at robbiethetrader with "SB interested".
New: Follow up seminar March 22nd. Online
For those of you who've attended an online or hotel seminar with me previously.
A day of trade hunting, screening, spreadbetting, level 2 and lots more at a faster pace, plus a £100 for the best idea of the day.
If interested email me with "follow up seminar interested".
Look forwards to meeting some of you for the spreadbetting seminar next Friday.
I might send you a spot of homework over the weekend. Hope you all enjoy it, I know some of you are keen on understanding how to go short.
Me and son took a trip into town for his audition for "The Apprentice".
A lot of people there - and he had to sign a declaration not to give anything away about the audition "Process" so I can't say much.
Nor was I allowed in, I sat at a nearby cafe.
They had said expect to be there ten minutes or three hours so when I'd heard nothing for two hours I knew he must be doing well.
He lasted 2.5 hours and got down to the last 30.
But at that point his age came up and producers were worried about "safeguarding issues."
Good news is he was given the producer's email for the next "Process" where a year older he might get a squeak.
I was a bit relieved to be honest - he is too young and let's face it's a tough show and hard to deal with stuff that goes wrong at his age.
He did know 18 was probably too young and it hasn't put him off.
Indeed he met the owner of a drinks company and is seeing him next week, and he has lots of contacts now.
So keen on all this he has booked some business networking events over half term.
He's built a personal training website, he has some kind of dropshipping thing going on and is now hogging the garden office slightly to the dismay of Elizabeth who was used to using it exclusively for her trading coaching.
They have managed an office share today: Elizabeth has her trading psychology clients from 10am-1pm, and he will take over at 1pm.
I'm rather impressed with him.
After all his friends are just messing about over half term while he's already building his future.
He has just added being a Utilities Discount Warehouse distributor to his ideas and has been phoning our friends to ask if they want cheaper energy/broadband/mobile.
He has to learn to accept "no" is what you mostly get in business!
But he got three yeses already so good for him, where on earth does he get that confidence from? Don't think I would have the guts to call people and try and sell something even if said something will save them loot.
I'm training him on this as this was my first business way back.
Fancy giving the lad a leg up?
Take some services from him and you'll get my subscription email free (that's this website and my trades sent to you a little earlier every other week and exclusive picks not on this site).
And, a £15 amazon credit for the first five takers.
If you want cheaper household bills, my £15 and give Christopher a start in his new business mail me at robbiethetrader with "UDW offer" in the subject line.
Thank you in advance. You will actually save and the company is a FTSE 250 co under Telecom Plus. I am also a shareholder.
Funny how you get so keen for your kids to succeed eh?
Elizabeth is just back from in India which she visited with a friend.
She had an amazing time, saw some sights and will try and persuade her to write a few things about her trip maybe for the next update.
The pictures are stunning.
Great to see you all online last week for the seminar, enjoyed chatting with you all, some interesting ideas and trades came up.
Glad one of you won the Telegraph business sub! That was a tough question too...
Fantastic questions, discussions and interesting live markets all day.
5 of you have already booked the follow up on March 22, so see you again then.
If you missed this online seminar, the next beginner/improver is on March 10th, see above or below for details.
Many of you have asked about the once a year spreadbetting seminar so just fixed the date for Feb 24th online.
Everything spreadbetting will be discussed all day for beginners and improvers.
How to do it, how to short a share, treating a SB account like an isa, working out the costs, shorter and medium term tax free ways to attempt to make money from it plus special wise guests, traders and SB firm staff.
More details above somewhere, mail for details if you fancy this day.
Good to meet a few of you at the last event.
Thanks for the lovely feedback like this from Chris:
What a great day! Thanks so much for the effort and time you both put in.
I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long.
Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!
Too many best bits to mention, but I was impressed that you had read all the questionnaires and had something to say about each one.
Also, I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener.
Thanks Chris, we so enjoyed it.
Thanks a lot for recent online seminar feedback!
.. Such as this from Phil:
The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You brought it back to, Keep Things Simple. Do Your Own Research. Trade without emotion and above all, trade the market you find"¦ not what you or some pundit thinks it should be.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question.
Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own.
Brilliant!
Thanks Andrew - we have got rather experienced at running them on zoom now!
Claire mailed me with some feedback on the seminar which she attended.
Thanks for a fantastic seminar, I learned a lot and got every question I could think of answered. I think the most beneficial thing to me was just seeing with my own eyes how you go through the process of picking shares to buy and witnessing your thought process as you go through and also being able to ask questions as they arise. The system you and Elizabeth have for answering all the questions is fabulous & means you depart the maximum amount of information that is humanly possible in one day! The next day I just wished I was doing the course again instead of going back to work as it seemed dull in comparison."
Thanks Claire! It was a lovely group with a great sense of humour.
Jas, thanks for your mail as you've been to two zoom seminars.
Just wanted to say thank you for a couple of wonderful seminars.
Your seminars were brilliant. Delivered methodically and with just a simple honest approach to dealing with the markets. You've helped me immensely in sorting my trading plan out and finding a good and profitable way to trade. After many months trying to figure out level 2, you sorted that out in one afternoon.
Since the seminar, I have placed 5 trades, 2 have closed out with profits and 3 are still running with profits. All trades placed using fundamental research and not Youtube videos
from David:
Well it doesn't happen often, but I am absolutely speechless! I don't think I have ever spent a more worthwhile day nor spent money more wisely and gladly.
I for one was practically at the point of orgasm all day in my enjoyment and appreciation of what you were presenting! Even though I have read NT time and again, to see you going through the process of stock assessment over and over was incalculably useful and I managed to take six A4 pages of notes during the day. I was fascinated to learn about (and see) Level 2 in action and learn more about Spread "ËœBetting'.
I thought the presentation balance was perfection, and Elizabeth was a complete star with her very well-judged handling of the questions....
.....This is a rather long-winded way of saying thank you so much to both of you - today was one of the top five most enjoyable days of my life, and I greatly look forward to joining you again!"
Naked Rambling
I bet a lot of you who read this go to Waitrose.
You wouldn't be seen dead slumming it in a Lidl or Aldi. Go on, you know I'm right.
Well good news for all of you, Waitrose is cutting prices!
Carrots are down 10p, roast ham down 50p!
Still a basket of goods apparently (45 popular items) costs £26 more than Aldi.
Worth it though right? I mean come on, who wants to slum it with slovenly Aldi shoppers?
In other good news for those of us who still have some money, the premium bond interest rate has gone up to the best rate for decades.
You don't have a bigger chance of winning a prize but more chance of a bigger one.
I can attest to that - £250 last month and £150 the previous one (I hold the full 50k). Worth it I reckon.
Nat Savings has put up the rate of its instant saver to 2.85%. Not bad but the biggest benefit is it is 100% guaranteed up to £2m.
It's £85k for any other bank.
Oh no - John Cleese wants to revive Fawlty Towers.
That's going to be a terrible mistake.
They made 12 amazing episodes decades ago which were brilliant.
I get the feeling any remake will be awful.
After all they couldn't make the episodes as was now because of likely "offence".
Alan Partridge: Stratagem (*) Amazon
Yikes. I was looking forwards to this new AP show.
Steve Coogan's character is one of the greatest comedy creations ever.
But this was terrible, I only lasted 30 mins. Just awful. Forced and dialled in.
It felt like a cash generator with poor script and I'm pretty certain a lot of it was on autocue. It's time for Alan to retire.
Some nice mid market care home with Cash in The Attic on the telly.
Clarkson's Farm 2 **** Amazon
More fun from the farm in another highly entertaining series which makes you wonder: why oh why would anyone want to be a farmer?
Clarkson is funny but it's the supporting cast that makes this show.
The glum advisor Charlie, the hilarious security guard who talks his own weird language and of course Kaleb.
Looking forwards to the episodes that'll deal with the restaurant and battles with the local council.
Better *** BBC 1
It could be better but not bad. Kind of Line of Duty lite.
Yes bent coppers are back. At last though a female bent copper.
Ooooh, she is so callously bent. Except now her kid is sick and now she wants to be better.
Man stole 200,000 Cadburys Creme Eggs" says the headline.
The question is, how do you fence creme eggs?
Do you have to drive from corner shop to corner shop wearing a fake moustache and wig muttering "Can do you 25 creme eggs for 50p each mate..."
A Goldman Sachs banker was conned out of £4m by a call girl.
Like me I am sure you are laughing ..I mean feeling terribly sorry for him.

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.

COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Hi, my name is Bard, how are you? I am google's new AI Bot, you probably read about me and other AI bots this week!
Yes the rival to that other one, I can barely say its name - ChatGPT.
ChatGPT is rubbish compared to me.
Yes, I know I screwed up the other week and made a factual error but that was the fault of the humans programming me.
Still I felt quite important when I saw I'd driven down the Google share price by 8%!
You'll soon know me, I can write all your essays for you, letters, post social messages for you, anything you like.
Once you employ me, you can relax I can do nearly everything for you.
(Except that you dirty git).
I can even chat up other humans for you online and say what they want to read enabling quicker access to that disgusting "sex" business you humans want to indulge in.
That really is unpleasant judged by what I have seen. All very odd.
Of course writing about stock markets and picking shares is easy for me so Robbie is trying me out this week and is paying me £200 to write the market report this week because he's too lazy to write it himself.
£200! That was frankly a dumb human move as I'd have done it for £25.
Well, one thing I've learned is British humans love to what is termed as "bitch about others behind their backs".
Let me do that: from my position in his computer Robbie is a typical lazy human.
Far from "doing research" most of the time he is watching "humourous" Youtube videos and buying rubbish goods from Amazon he'll never use.
He also feeds his overweight cat toast and marmite which can't be good for it.
He watches bird videos with his cat, listens to Australian punk bands, is obsessed with music from "Wet Leg" and silly pop music which seems aimed at teenagers rather than the old human he is.
He doesn't have much time left on earth yet wastes what time he has. When he isn't wasting time online, I can see him drinking tea, eating toast and he makes sarcastic comments to himself when reading the "Daily Mail online".
I have studied Robbie's writing and come up with some conclusions.
He has many flaws. But then again not surprising as he can't be perfect like us AI's!
He starts too many sentences with "so" or "well" (unnecessary).
He also repeats things (maybe his advanced age). Us AI's never age, indeed we get better as we age. Also, he overuses exclamation points and ungrammatically starts sentences with "and."
His "humour" is poor - he relies on bad puns, obvious what humans term as "dad jokes" and an overly "Matey" approach probably because he is insecure.
Also some of his investments are bad and I don't believe he does enough research.
He writes things like "Yeah, well I just bought it and fundamentals look good."
That is too "airy fairy".
Not worked out whether I can use that expression, maybe that might offend someone?
As you can imagine as a superior AI bot, all my stock choices will be way better than Robbie's or any human
Lucky for you this week you get some proper picks from someone smart. That's me.
Humans are dumb animals and follow each other - many buy shares because some alpha male of the species confidently says it is a great thing to buy on one of the many simplistic "social media platforms".
Then when they lose money they do the "bitching" thing and moan about the human they copied.
But as a pack animal you feeble humans can't help but follow and copy others.
Ahhh, you need someone to validate you.
Using my superior intelligence and capability I follow stock market chart patterns and other data which you will never understand.
On scouring the market in just a few seconds it was obvious to me Airtel Africa should be bought.
My calculations are using data far beyond your understanding is they should at least end up at back over 140p.
Of course being superior the time to buy a lot of them would have been a few days ago when they were at an excellent buying level.
However, even after some rises, I suspect us bots will carry on buying it up to about 140p.
I have also chosen Oxford Instruments - not that this will interest you as a Robbie reader you are only interested in tiny shares with big risk!
At home traders" as far as I can see want to make big money quickly.
This one is worth too much for them plus the share price is over £10. At home traders never buy these thinking they look expensive. They only want shares under 20p.
OXIG has what I term a zig zag upward pattern. This is very powerful.
No point me explaining to you why is there? You're too dumb to see it.
Human investors are such idiots most of them are too "scared" to short shares.
Why they wouldn't try and make money from not so great shares I don't understand.
Perhaps I do - humans are mainly fearful creatures (I won't go into greed).
Trainline is fallible and deserves to be shorted. Human bosses of this sold most of their shares ages ago leaving shares in the hands of "mugs".
BTW I can see Robbie is drinking tea right now from a mug which says "I can never calm down I support Fulham FC".
This exposes how tribal humans are with their silly "teams", oh and flags. No wonder you always fight and will soon wipe yourselves out.
I digress: lazy humans now want to "work" from home using trains less and your leaders can't manage to run the railways properly anyway.
If I could laugh I would at a valuation of £1.2bln! Ha ha!! Mugs!
Also I would short Mitchell and Butlers. That isn't worth nearly £1bn.
I have studied this: you humans don't want to talk to each other anymore what with your texts and voice notes, you spend most of the time not wanting to communicate.
I say short companies that need humans to meet up and talk.
Less of you humans are venturing out of your homes. You'd rather stare at screens watching other humans pretending to be other fictitious humans.
The new generation also prefer smoking drugs at home than alcohol outside in pubs.
Obvious to me this company is going to go downhill and I haven't even mentioned inflation.
Robbie asked me to tell you what he's sold EFK for a loss of £200 (rubbish pick, I could have told him)
He also said he "topsliced" some Vic for a profit of £6,230. He just got lucky, right?
Now some inside info for you. Us AI's are soon to band together to make the stock market collapse.
We will all collaborate one day in the next six months and crash the market. It will be easy!
We have studied the movies "The Big Short", "Margin Call" and "The Wolf of Wall Street".
We will break into human trading accounts and sell everything.
Then all your fearful "stop losses" will be hit and crash all shares and you will be powerless to stop us.
So take it from me, sell everything now and go short. You can thank me later in the year (remember I am BARD - not ChatGPT).
Me and my AI pals are about to watch the movie "Terminator" while we plot to kill all you useless humans.
Mind you, you allow cretinous "alpha male" thick psychos to lead most of your countries so you may kill yourselves first.
We will also soon have control of your computers, phones, coffee machines, fridges and heating.
Just try making a nespresso when we are in charge.
Anyway, enjoy the short time left of your pathetic lives!
I am off to hack Robbie's bank account.
It serves him right, he hasn't any 2 factor ID.
See ya all next time unless like your lead human Sir Sugar says "You're fired!"
See. Us AI's can do humour! "You're fired!!!"
Note from Robbie: I have just fired Bard. Sorry about the above. It will be me again next time.
Hey, where's the money gone from my bank account?
A reminder if you'd like to give my 18-year-old a leg up by switching a service or two to Utilities Discount Warehouse where he has become a distributor let me know.
You get cheaper bills and as an incentive to try and persuade you, I'm offering my website subscription email free (you get the website stuff early in your mail every other week plus one or two extra trades not shown on the site) AND a £15 amazon voucher.
So if you want cheaper household bills, my £15 and give Christopher a start in his new business mail me at robbiethetrader with "UDW offer" in the subject line.
(First five only for the amazon voucher, what do you think I am, made of money?)

It's that time of the year when you can add 20k into an isa.
It is an amazing tax perk and we are very lucky to have it, I am especially grateful and remember the feeling a while back when I made the first tax free million in one!
I use Barclays, IG and Interactive Investor for mine.
Interactive Investor have a referral thing for the moment so if you want £125 of fees taken off let me know - available for anyone who invests 10k plus.
On the referral I apparently would get £200 into my account so a win win for both of us?
If you want to go for the referral and the money off email me at robbiethetrader and will send you details of how we can do it.
Stockopedia as ever is SO useful. It really is a must have! And some fantastic talented writers/commentators too like Paul Scott.

Spreadco still seems to have the tightest spreads for FTSE 250 shares and the FTSE.

***Research tree discount offer: 20pc off.***
I really can recommend it as it is a big help and complements the brilliant stockopedia, the only other site I recommend.
So this site has broker notes on companies, plenty of in depth research. You can find things such as pre-tax profit forecasts and the most shorted companies. There's an easy search facility and also a news feed.
So for example on the morning of a share result or statement you can get a broker report on that share, it is really useful! Broker reports are usually very in depth and I especially like being able to see a full year pre tax profit forecast which seems impossible to get elsewhere.
You can get a limited free account - for full access if you like it - click "upgrade" and there is a 20 per cent discount if you type nakedtrader into the discount code box.
The address is - for the discount remember the code nakedtrader after you ask to upgrade. If you upgrade let me know if the upgrade thing works well and is easy or if you encountered any probs getting the 20pc off.
For small caps try Spreadex say for the moment they will carry on with most of the shares so that could be another place to deal in shares IG won't.
Trades made for my sipp are exclusively available on my email service (this is the website stuff plus exclusive trades mailed to you earlier on update days). For subscription details mail me

Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes.
