The postman is getting more and more contemptuous.

Every time he delivers something I'm in pyjama bottoms.

He thinks I'm a dole scrounger, or maybe a drugs dealer, whatever it is I'm unsavoury.

Sorry I got you out of bed," he says sarcastically as he hands over a package.

He's clever and quick, he's gone before I can think of a suitable riposte.

Now the Ocado delivery driver has joined in, I got some look when I took delivery in my pj bottoms in the afternoon.

He's thinking "I'm out here all weathers doing a job and this guy is lounging around, probably high on cocaine.."

That is it, I can't take it any more.

I have now placed some emergency trousers by the front door.

Next time the doorbell goes, rush over, bang on the trousers.

When am I ever going to stop being a people pleaser?

Covid is over, thank goodness.

Apparently I probably can't get it again for 2-3 months. That's a bit of upside.

I know, it'll be flu next right? I've had enough of being jabbed but will think about the covid one again after a couple of months.

The vote is in.

Only ten of you wanted to a live hotel follow up seminar at Xmas.

I even tempted you with Xmas dinner and a free bar but there we are.

I guess maybe you don't want to pick up covid or flu before the big day.

I was happy to risk it despite being breathed on all day by loads of people and in the bar after!

But numbers just aren't there - the hotel needs a minimum 20.

So it's going to be online. On December 14th. You can book now or ask for details with "xmas follow up" in the subject line.

It is always a popular one as of course we do Xmas rally. I have to limit spots even online so please don't leave it too late if you are a regular to this one.

I'll take another vote next year and just maybe we can get together at the hotel!

Good to meet a few of you online day on Tuesday just two days ago.

Lots of beginners, I know there was a lot to get your heads round but three of you have booked the follow up so I must have broken through!

Only one woman which is unusual, so well done Linda! (And your fabulous dining room)

Lots of interesting ideas came up and it was a fascinating day to do it with markets well up.

Thanks for the lovely feedback like this from Chris:

What a great day! Thanks so much for the effort and time you both put in.

I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long.

Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!

Too many best bits to mention, but I was impressed that you had read all the questionnaires and had something to say about each one.

Also, I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener.

Thanks Chris, we so enjoyed it.

Thanks a lot for recent online seminar feedback!
.. Such as this from Phil:

The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)

As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.

You brought it back to, Keep Things Simple. Do Your Own Research. Trade without emotion and above all, trade the market you find"¦ not what you or some pundit thinks it should be.

You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question.
Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own.
Brilliant!
Thanks Andrew - we have got rather experienced at running them on zoom now!

Claire mailed me with some feedback on the seminar which she attended.

Thanks for a fantastic seminar, I learned a lot and got every question I could think of answered. I think the most beneficial thing to me was just seeing with my own eyes how you go through the process of picking shares to buy and witnessing your thought process as you go through and also being able to ask questions as they arise. The system you and Elizabeth have for answering all the questions is fabulous & means you depart the maximum amount of information that is humanly possible in one day! The next day I just wished I was doing the course again instead of going back to work as it seemed dull in comparison."

Thanks Claire! It was a lovely group with a great sense of humour.

Jas, thanks for your mail as you've been to two zoom seminars.

Just wanted to say thank you for a couple of wonderful seminars.
Your seminars were brilliant. Delivered methodically and with just a simple honest approach to dealing with the markets. You've helped me immensely in sorting my trading plan out and finding a good and profitable way to trade. After many months trying to figure out level 2, you sorted that out in one afternoon.

Since the seminar, I have placed 5 trades, 2 have closed out with profits and 3 are still running with profits. All trades placed using fundamental research and not Youtube videos
from David:

Well it doesn't happen often, but I am absolutely speechless! I don't think I have ever spent a more worthwhile day nor spent money more wisely and gladly.

I for one was practically at the point of orgasm all day in my enjoyment and appreciation of what you were presenting! Even though I have read NT time and again, to see you going through the process of stock assessment over and over was incalculably useful and I managed to take six A4 pages of notes during the day. I was fascinated to learn about (and see) Level 2 in action and learn more about Spread "ËœBetting'.

I thought the presentation balance was perfection, and Elizabeth was a complete star with her very well-judged handling of the questions....

.....This is a rather long-winded way of saying thank you so much to both of you - today was one of the top five most enjoyable days of my life, and I greatly look forward to joining you again!"

Naked Rambling

I wonder whether Rishi Sunak was sitting there thinking "ok maybe we're over the worst, things should be looking up for us now."

He takes a nice sip of coffee.

The next election is two years away, just maybe, I mean who else could screw up, everyone who's screwed up has probably done it by now!"

Then his press secretary arrives and gulps.

Erm, Nick Hancock is going on I'm A Celebrity".

Sunak sinks to the floor in utter despair.

FFS!" he shouts. "Well, at least it wasn't Rees-Mogg."

The biggest prat ever to be a minister is going on reality TV! I'm definitely going to be watching it.

He'll end up doing every single trial I guess but please don't vote him out early, it will be comedy gold.

In his deluded state he thinks everyone will love him.

Like a lot of politicians he really wanted to be in showbiz but had no talent for it.

Also Rishi must have realised he has two major added problems.

One's surname has the word "cock" in it, and the other has a surname that is close to a very bad swear word.

Great fun that Elon Musk has taken over twitter.

Go on, let Trump back on, we need that entertainment.

Charging those with "blue ticks" is genius.

Who is going to pay up and who isn't?

Well, I don't care, I have no plans to tweet. Life is so short why bother with it?

Isn't it just people having a go at each other and generally pretty nasty?
The Handmaid's Tale (***) Ch4
Not a bad effort to wring more out of this dystopian tale.

Serena and June are at loggerheads and want to kill each other.

You'd have to put your money on June but Serena is a lot bigger...

You'd hope they'd widen the scope of this a bit, how about Gilead tries to invade Canada?

The White Lotus (****) Atlantic
The highly anticipated new series has arrived set in a White Lotus in Italy.

It's always a great watch as there is nothing like watching the super rich having a rotten time at a five star resort.

A big miss is the manager from the first series, the new manager isn't as fun.

Apart from that it's great and features Christopher from the Sopranos as a sex addict.

Plenty of fun and though the first episode is a little slow, no doubt like the last series the pace will quicken.

The Watcher (****) Netflix
Highly watchable thriller - at first you think "Oh no not another haunted house story".

But it's much more than that - some great characters and top actors.

Family moves into a massive house and are threatened by "The Watcher" who, er watches them.

The neighbours are pretty hostile too and a ferrett gets a nasty ending. Lots of silly fun.

Gangs of London (***) Atlantic
The last season was gripping but the start of this one seems to be way too violent.

Eyeballs popping! All kind of staged nasty ways to die. Right from the start.

Might have been better to start off with more of a story. The main baddie seems to be a stereotype.

I'll give it one more episode hoping for a bit more story and a little less crazily graphic violence.

My Massive Cock (*) Ch 4 (of course)
Bit annoyed they found people with ones bigger than mine.

Ok, really annoyed.

A ch4 news guy gets suspended for calling a cabinet minister a c***.

But surely every single media person must have called a cabinet minister a c*** so how about suspending them all?

Though don't you get the feeling the whole lot of both sides of the fence are indeed - a bunch of c***s?

MARKETS

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.

****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

MARKETS

Markets continue to be a bit stronger and there's been some nice rises over the last couple of weeks.

Will this carry on? There is a feeling about we could be leading up to a strong "Santa" rally.

I'll be covering the Santa rally live at the beginners/improvers online event on Dec 7th and the follow up on Dec 14th. Mail me at robbiethetrader if you are interested in either event with "December interested" or "follow up interested".

Interest rates went up a lot in the US last night and today here by the expected 0.75%.

Markets seem for right now to be taking these in their stride although there were initial drops.

The UK's finance boss was pretty gloomy and reckoned a recession till 2024.

With the markets not seeming that bothered is it possibly seen that rates might not have to rise too much more?

One thing to always remember is markets look forward.

Will the recession we're in be fairly short-lived? Let's hope.

I am doing some selective buying of quality companies at lower levels and hoping to hold onto them at what look life great prices.

Also happy to continue to short the bad ones.

Craneware is an interesting share that came up at both the last follow up seminar and this week's beginners/improvers.

CRW licences, develops and supports computer software for the US healthcare industry.

The company has changed after a big acquisition it made last year of Sentra Data Systems.

The buy has paid off with a massive increase in profit and profit forecasts.

The integration has gone well and it looks like money well spent.

With the US health market being huge, there are probably lots more chances to increase profits here and my plan is to tuck it away in the isa long-term unless problems start to surface using a very loose stop.

Another one that came up at the online beginner/improver seminar was Bodycote. (BOY).

Looks rather interesting as a recovery play.

It's had a horrible year with shares down from nine quid to five. (9-5 what a way to make a living).

But prospects don't look bad and around a fiver shares look good value now, especially as there is a near 5% dividend.

Downside is there is some debt at this heat treatment company but it's well within my parameters.

It looks like it's trying to find a bottom (stop it!) at around a fiver.

But if it fell much below 450p I'd be getting out. I'd call it a speculative try. If it falls I will quit but I'd hang on or buy more if support for the shares comes in.

A statement is due Nov 21st which makes it a bit risky and I think it it showed signs of falling before that, I'd take fright and get out.

I've bought some of PR outfit Next Fifteen (NFC)

The acquisition of Saatchi is now off and the market seems to like this.

Looks like there was some opinion NFC were paying too much for the moment.

Looking at financials without the buy, it looks cheap especially if forecasts for 2025 are anything near right.

I do like Indivior and starting to build quite a big position.

Not only are fundamentals good, but there is a likely re-rating ahead as it gets a listing in the US.

Shares like this related to the drugs industry are much more highly rated over there and could end with a higher rating overall.

Its drug menu is growing very nicely and there is a massive market in its anti opiod treatments.

GB Group has had a very torrid time since the bid for it fell through.

But anything under 4 quid looks way too cheap - and I am in.

At the moment profits are forecast to grow very strongly with debt forecast to come down fast and head for net cash by 2024.

With those figures in mind and a much lower pe you'd have thought another bidder will come through sooner or later.

I added some K3C.

At last there is some decent upward movement in the shares and this week received a giant dividend.

The dividend is more than 6% which is rather nice.

Like most shares it had a downturn over the last 6 months but it's recovering fast and looks cheap despite a bit of a rise over the last 2-3 weeks.

Sharepad reckons a 65% growth in profits for 2023 and if this right the shares ought to be a lot more expensive.

If I was a much bigger rival I'd be tempted to snap it up.

It has used cash wisely and just bought insolvency practitioner Chamberlain.

If it carries on with clever buys that push up profits then the share price should follow suit.

It went down briefly this morning and I tried to get some more.

However, it seemed to be just a mm shake and they proved impossible to buy at the lower price, still a good sign for the future.

Being a shark/Spock like trader (or so I like to think) I rarely feel emotional even if I get a profit warning and lose a packet.

Or if I sold out of a share then it got bid for.

But I admit I was momentarily annoyed that I sold half my Bloomsbury before results.

Said results turned out to be rather good.

I then went in and bought at the higher price thus missing 30p or so.

Still, it's a great company, so happy to be in. Went ex div today.

ADF today announced it's opening a new facility at a big studio in Scotland.

A lot of money is going into studios up there including Amazon which is putting a lot in.

There are going to be a lot of shows made up there.

Good opportunity for ADF to have first mover advantage.

The market really ought to be rating ADF shares a lot higher.

I took part profits of £8,850 on the Next short.

Although it has rallies Next continues in a downtrend - however it seemed sensible given quite a big short position to bank some profits. And it is a well run company.

I didn't sell anything else as all the longs are going well for now.

Some fairly big indices shorts got stopped out for nice profits as they rallied this week.

Ideally for me, I'd love the indices to drop off some more giving us a glorious Santa rally...

Something that came up at the online this week seminar was ex dividend dates.

Ex div dates matter because shares open down by the amount of the dividend on ex day.

If you didn't know this you could see your share fall a lot and sell up thinking there is something wrong.

Or your stop loss gets hit because you didn't change it. Some dividends can be large like 40p!

So always make a note of when a share goes ex (most websites have the dates) and for how much.

Today for example for me NWF started down 7p as it went ex for that amount.
The portfolio has had a very good week - though of course it has been an up week.

Well done to NWF which keeps going higher (except for the ex div).

Also very strong rises for Victorian Plumbing.

VIC rose quite fast then had a bit of profit taking but looking at the figures there could be even more upside here.

Argentex has been a fantastic winner and there didn't even seem to be much profit taking.

Looks like it might take a bit for it to get through 120p looking at level 2 but if it does, there could be more to come.

Telecom Plus heads back towards its all time high, it reports soon and it should be good.

It's just got a much better deal for its phone/broadband from its supplier which should help finances.

My dog eared certificate from the early 2000s when it was 82p is looking good!

Good luck with any investments, here's hoping for a great end of year.

It's that time of the year when you can add 20k into an isa.

It is an amazing tax perk and we are very lucky to have it, I am especially grateful and remember the feeling a while back when I made the first tax free million in one!

I use Barclays, IG and Interactive Investor for mine.

Interactive Investor have a referral thing for the moment so if you want £125 of fees taken off let me know - available for anyone who invests 10k plus.

On the referral I apparently would get £200 into my account so a win win for both of us?

If you want to go for the referral and the money off email me at robbiethetrader and will send you details of how we can do it.
Stockopedia as ever is SO useful. It really is a must have! And some fantastic talented writers/commentators too like Paul Scott.

Brilliant stats on all shares, amazing stock screens and lots more.

Spreadco still seems to have the tightest spreads for FTSE 250 shares and the FTSE.

***Research tree discount offer: 20pc off.***
I really can recommend it as it is a big help and complements the brilliant stockopedia, the only other site I recommend.
So this site has broker notes on companies, plenty of in depth research. You can find things such as pre-tax profit forecasts and the most shorted companies. There's an easy search facility and also a news feed.
So for example on the morning of a share result or statement you can get a broker report on that share, it is really useful! Broker reports are usually very in depth and I especially like being able to see a full year pre tax profit forecast which seems impossible to get elsewhere.
You can get a limited free account - for full access if you like it - click "upgrade" and there is a 20 per cent discount if you type nakedtrader into the discount code box.
The address is - for the discount remember the code nakedtrader after you ask to upgrade. If you upgrade let me know if the upgrade thing works well and is easy or if you encountered any probs getting the 20pc off.
For small caps try Spreadex say for the moment they will carry on with most of the shares so that could be another place to deal in shares IG won't.
Trades made for my sipp are exclusively available on my email service (this is the website stuff plus exclusive trades mailed to you earlier on update days). For subscription details mail me
with "email interested"

It is hard to find a firm that does prices on the very small companies but this company does:

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
