*Please note this website has a deliberately crap layout with a 2003 vibe.

I've upset the receptionist at the gym by going off script.
I admit I've always struggled when people ask "How are you?"
I know it's just chit chat and social nicety and you're supposed to say "very well thank you how are you"?
Maybe it's my rebellious streak but I struggle not to say what I'm really thinking.
It has sometimes led me down strange avenues.
Once I got a call from another office when I was working in TV, the accountant said "How are you".
I said: "Really pissed off with everything, how about you?"
This led to the accountant deciding I was the man for her and I got stalked for six months offered as much sex as I wanted with no commitment!
I didn't take her up on the offer as she was obviously bunny boiler bonkers.
Anyway at the gym when he asked how are you, I replied "Full of fear and self loathing".
The poor chap's smile froze and now when I go in we avoid eye contact. He thinks I'm a nut probably.
At some point I'll have to confront this.
I'm really sorry I said that, it was just a joke, hey I'm feeling just great today.." Think that will work?
From now on if anyone asks I am going to stick to the "Very well thank you" script.
I will try not to be tempted into "Ok, I think I'm nearly over covid".
An away trip to Charterhouse School to see my son play football.
We obviously had a good nosy around. It is pretty impressive.
There's a real sense of history there, statues of ex pupils centuries ago who dun good, amazing grounds.
Could even park the car right by the pitch to watch the game in comfort.
They seem to breed giant lads there - the defender marking our son was about four feet taller.
They got a penalty (awarded by one of their teachers) then our son nipped round giant defender to equalise.
One of their big lads then booted one of our small lads and we were down to ten as no subs.
Strangely the game seemed to have a lot of extra time and they bagged a winner.
That's ok, being Fulham fans we're used to losing a game in the last few seconds.
In December there's an away game at Eton so will be fun to poke around there.
I don't have a top hat or even a jacket, do you think they'll let me in?
As you can imagine they are ruthless there.
When we played them last, they were winning 3-0 (two penalties). We got it to 3-3 and looked like going on to win.
Amazingly their ref blew the whistle for the end of the game 10 minutes early.
Good to meet a few of you online day.
Lots of beginners, I know there was a lot to get your heads round but three of you have booked the follow up so I must have broken through!
Only one woman which is unusual, so well done Linda! (And your fabulous dining room)
Lots of interesting ideas came up and it was a fascinating day to do it with markets well up.
Thanks for the lovely feedback like this from Chris:
What a great day! Thanks so much for the effort and time you both put in.
I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long.
Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!
Too many best bits to mention, but I was impressed that you had read all the questionnaires and had something to say about each one.
Also, I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener.
Thanks Chris, we so enjoyed it.
Thanks a lot for recent online seminar feedback!
.. Such as this from Phil:
The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You brought it back to, Keep Things Simple. Do Your Own Research. Trade without emotion and above all, trade the market you find"¦ not what you or some pundit thinks it should be.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question.
Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own.
Brilliant!
Thanks Andrew - we have got rather experienced at running them on zoom now!
Claire mailed me with some feedback on the seminar which she attended.
Thanks for a fantastic seminar, I learned a lot and got every question I could think of answered. I think the most beneficial thing to me was just seeing with my own eyes how you go through the process of picking shares to buy and witnessing your thought process as you go through and also being able to ask questions as they arise. The system you and Elizabeth have for answering all the questions is fabulous & means you depart the maximum amount of information that is humanly possible in one day! The next day I just wished I was doing the course again instead of going back to work as it seemed dull in comparison."
Thanks Claire! It was a lovely group with a great sense of humour.
Jas, thanks for your mail as you've been to two zoom seminars.
Just wanted to say thank you for a couple of wonderful seminars.
Your seminars were brilliant. Delivered methodically and with just a simple honest approach to dealing with the markets. You've helped me immensely in sorting my trading plan out and finding a good and profitable way to trade. After many months trying to figure out level 2, you sorted that out in one afternoon.
Since the seminar, I have placed 5 trades, 2 have closed out with profits and 3 are still running with profits. All trades placed using fundamental research and not Youtube videos
from David:
Well it doesn't happen often, but I am absolutely speechless! I don't think I have ever spent a more worthwhile day nor spent money more wisely and gladly.
I for one was practically at the point of orgasm all day in my enjoyment and appreciation of what you were presenting! Even though I have read NT time and again, to see you going through the process of stock assessment over and over was incalculably useful and I managed to take six A4 pages of notes during the day. I was fascinated to learn about (and see) Level 2 in action and learn more about Spread "ËœBetting'.
I thought the presentation balance was perfection, and Elizabeth was a complete star with her very well-judged handling of the questions....
.....This is a rather long-winded way of saying thank you so much to both of you - today was one of the top five most enjoyable days of my life, and I greatly look forward to joining you again!"
Naked Rambling
Jeremy watch how you say his last name Hunt is hitting us with tax rises announced today.
Most are the sneaky ones with frozen allowances.
The most hidden bad news for sharebuyers is reductions in CGT allowances. More on that later.
The one tax that needs reforming most is the VAT threshold of 85k.
This is a terrible tax which stops smaller companies growing,
After all if you've got to an 80k turnover there's not much incentive to work hard to get above 85.
You may well even lose customers once you've got to add 20% to bills.
I have to add 20% to all the online seminars which is very frustrating.
I tried to argue they are "educational" therefore no vat but no luck.
Taking politics aside I wonder what really would be best for the country's economy at this stage?
Will raising taxes help or make things worse?
If only we could get an elder group of wise men and women to crunch the maths, look back through history and then judge unemotionally and unpolitically what the best options are.
So, the world cup is coming.
While of course it will be entertaining though I can't see England getting into the final.
Could they? Not sure there's enough there to beat the likes of Brazil.
Can Harry Kane step up here. Will he get enough service?
Look out for Portugal, could go well at decent odds.
While it is appalling that in Qatar being gay is forbidden, can you imagine coming out as a footballer there?
Strange though, isn't it that out of what say 1,000 premier league players none are gay..
Odd that. Lucky for us we live in a caring and understanding society.. here there is no stigma to being a gay footballer!
Living (*****) Cinemas
Delightful and moving movie with Bill Nighy maybe playing his best role ever.
1950s civil servant (Nighy) is told he only has 6 months to live.
Dubbed "Mr Zombie" by colleagues he realises he hadn't really lived his life at all, what can he do in his remaining time?
Terrific acting and story which definitely makes you wonder: are you living the life you want, or are you just a zombie?
The Crown (**) Netflix
Just based on the first episode.
I was looking forward to it as a bit of fun fiction as the last few series have been decent but what a disappointment.
The cast changes haven't helped but it was just, well, boring!!
Some of the lines are very stilted and wouldn't have been said in real life and the Queen doesn't come across well.
All in all a massive letdown and I'm not rushing to watch the next.
I'm A Celebrity (****) ITV
I know a lot are snooty about this but with a bit of fast forwarding it's fun and this year fascinating because of course it's the Matt Hancock show.
There are so many angles to it. Matt turns out to be just a bit of a prat who got lucky probably because he is personable but should never have ended up in a serious government role.
Perhaps surprising many, Hancock turns out to be ballsy and handles the challenges with ease, you can see how he made it up the greasy political pole.
The alpha male celebrities are mainly put out (esp C Moyles) that they're not going to get as much attention as they thought they would.
Boy George did the classic British slagging someone off behind their backs but unable to confront face to face.
George is also annoyed Hancock to be fair has some charisma and does he seem - slightly jealous?
Hancock has come in from 40-1 to 7-1 to actually win it. He couldn't. Could he?
My money's on thick but lovely Owen, he's just so loveable so I've had an each way punt at 6/1.
Mammals (***) Amazon Prime
New comedy with James Cordon and it's not a bad effort.
Based on marriage infidelity it tries to make the point only 5% of mammals mate for life and that it's difficult.
It's entertaining though there's no explanation how the characters can afford multi million pound homes and country cottages and how they manage to live with no clutter at all.
One character is a chef and one seems to be in PR. In reality they'd be renting a flat in Peckham.
Some decent lines and a surprise cameo from Tom Jones. No surprise now, as I just told you.
Goodness Oatly shares in the States are down massively.
Yes! Drink proper milk. Milk and More is great, we get glass bottles delivered from a good old fashioned milkman,,, I mean milkperson.
My dentist said because of hidden sugars in oat milk she is seeing loads of new tooth decay. Be careful...
Over 65's are picking up sex diseases after going crazy swiping on date sites.
Good on them. Go for it !
Just a word of advice: keep the lights off.
And make sure you've got replacement batteries handy.
And check where the nearest defibrillator is.

COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

MARKETS
Who'd have thought it? Shares can actually go up!
Sentiment has changed since figures in the US showed inflation and interest rates could come down sooner than thought.
Whether this sentiment stays put or not is another thing.
However it has given a lift to a lot of shares.
Usually the back end of November isn't great nor is early December but this then builds for a potential Santa rally.
There are various ways to try and play the santa rally which is a real thing and usually works!
I'll be covering the Santa rally live at the beginners/improvers online event on Dec 7th and the follow up on Dec 14th. Mail me at robbiethetrader if you are interested in either event with "December interested" or "follow up interested".
The SB firm I use for santa rally is
It's because it has only a 0.8 FTSE spread and it's so easy to change stops and manage with an easy layout.
However, a warning. There was one year the santa rally didn't work, I think it was 2019 and you must realise if you get it wrong and don't use stops you can do your brains if you're inexperienced.
Main thing is not to be greedy, don't go crazy on staking and understand potential max losses.
There's a massive chapter on how to play the Xmas rally in The Naked Trader Guide to Spreadbetting Edition 2 which you can buy from this site or on Amazon. And hey - I get £1 from every sale - whoopeee!
Talking spreadbetting - and Isas - be grateful we have them.
The biggest negative for us share buyers in today's Huntish statement is reduction in capital gains tax exemptions to £6k and then just £3k.
That means if you make only smallish profits from your shares outside isas and spreadbetting you'll have to pay tax on winnings.
I've carried on with my strategy of buying quality and shorting crap. This is still working.
So all in all happy with what I've got and frankly I've been lazing around watching crap on Netflix when I could be doing more with my life!
Not an awful lot to report then from over the last couple of weeks.
I've bought a small one - Iqgeo IQG - for the isa to add to some I bought for my Sipp a while back.
It's an interesting one and on the risky side as it's quite highly rated so any slips and it will be punished.
But I thought might make a longer-term tuckaway provided nothing goes wrong.
It delivers geospatial solutions to telecoms and utilities - one or two with knowledge of the industry seemed to rate it at the last follow up seminar.
If forecasts are right after an acquisition it's going to swing into a major profit from losses which should bring the current high looking rating down. There's some cash in there too.
A good sign is it kept rising during a down market spell. It's a question now of whether the rating is justified, I'm going to give it a go with quite a loose stop for smaller money.
I noted my defence play BAE Systems sank on rumours of defence spending coming down.
I used that wobble to buy some more - it looks very strong indeed and I think it would be no surprise to see it bid for though whether that bid would get through government intervention is another thing.
It's continuing a massive share buyback which should keep the share price from a major tumble.
In any event no reduction in defence spending was announced in today's statement.
I've bought/averaged up in Craneware CRW.
This one that specialises in software solutions for the US care market has updated the market and this is moving the share price up again.
It's seen positive upticks across its markets and its recent acquisitions are going well.
It also says it is handling inflation ok. I think there could be further upside so I have averaged up, one I'm eyeing a bit longer-term if possible.
I've shorted some more Moonpig which is due to report soon.
I've been short of Moonpig for some time and gradually the share price falls most days.
I just don't see its business model sustaining well. After all it's mainly just cards and I think cards are on their way out.
People just can't be bothered with them especially under 30s - a text will usually do!
While it looks like it might be quite well run, it seems to be a likely stagnant market in the future and with the price of delivery and inflation I wonder whether this will start to eat into profits?
The sudden surge in the car crash that is Aston Martin prompted me to short a few more after taking some profits previously.
I'm currently making a packet shorting Bitcon.
You can only trade Bitcoin spreadbetting if you're classified a pro (you need to show £500k liquid funds) which is probably quite right, it is dangerous.
But I've always said the whole thing is a crazy ponzi scheme and only a matter of time before it unravelled.
Btw, would you like to buy a Naked Trader Coin?
Yours for just £10,000k a coin. Send me 10k, and I'll pop an NT coin in the post to you by return.
Go on, it's going to be worth a million soon!
Bagged profits of £585 in Boy after a good run, still like it though so looking for re-entry there.
The short in Currys went for a profit of £250. I sold Big for £124. My reason was it just wasn't rising in a strong market.
Elsewhere some good news from some holdings.
Me Group reported well, pushing up the price and looks a decent long-term hold and a nice dividend to boot.
Under the radar I Energiser (IBPO) reported cracking results - this is a lovely hold.
IBPO has paid me so much in dividends over the last 2-3 years and decent capital uplift too.
Best not to tell anyone about it or else it will get volatile...
Argentex came up with storming results. Of course these resulted in profit taking but shouldn't be too long before the upleg continues as its markets stay strong.
One major reason people lose money keeps cropping up again and again at the seminars when we chat about what went wrong for you and why you made losses.
It's an odd unexpected one - it seems big losses follow from.. following.
That is, many seem to lose by following buys from tipsters, commentators, twitter, discussion boards, podcasts, or even a friend.
It shouldn't be surprising - after all us humans are a pack animal. We want to follow someone's lead. Often we're too scared to head off on our own.
But this leads to newbies coming onto forums and buying whatever the commentator buys.
Said commentator/bulletin board person, twitter pundit etc will buy stuff and you can't help but follow.
After all, they make a great case. Share is undervalued, they say, it's going to be so much higher, look at these figures.
Of course you follow. But. Then the share starts to tank. The person you followed doesn't take the loss or use stop losses.
In fact your guru actually buys more at the lower price. "Even a bigger bargain now!"
You follow suit.
I can't believe some of the massive losses told to me in seminars and on questionnaires. I mean BIG.
One chap lost £85,000 following a pundit into Revolution Bars. Another £50,000 lost on Fever Tree.
Following a writer into Hotel Chocolat caused someone else to lose £25,000.
So many pundits backed Boo Hoo that it has produced the worst losses I've been told with many admitting to £10k-£100k losses on this.
Amazingly many wouldn't take losses all the way from 400p through to 50p. Surely bonkers?
At any point a stop would have got them out.
In one or two cases they didn't tell their wives causing relationship problems. They never tell the people on the forums. Too embarrassing.
I can understand why they bought but I can't understand why they put so much money in.
They could have gone in much smaller, maybe it's a gambling instinct that gets out of hand.
These losses weren't the fault of whoeever it was they followed over the cliff.
It was their fault for following blindly - but then you can see why it happened.
This also includes me - you shouldn't be following me or any writer into anything unless you did your own research and most importantly set a stop loss and have a PLAN.
For example I could buy something, it starts to tank, hits my stop and I'm gone. Meanwhile you are still in and decide you won't sell cos it might come back.
The usual delusion is "I'll put it in a drawer, it'll be back up in 2 years.." Yes but it could go down further or go bust.
You really ought to use stop losses - see all the examples from the book.
Preserving your capital is SO important at least you get to fight another day.
If you can, and it is very hard as we can't help but wonder what others are doing - forget about forums and get shares from screening.
The moment you get involved with bb's/twitter etc you'll be picking up the too positive confirmation biases of contributors.
Stockopedia has some decent screens, start for example with the quality screen.
For a 25% discount , a free trial and access to lots of great screening tools and lots more go to
SHAREPAD BLACK FRIDAY OFFER
Some of you are now also using Sharepad and here is a Black Friday offer which closes Dec 2nd.

For those of you coming to the follow up seminar on Dec 14th Paul from Sharepad will be on line for a little to take questions and show you how to use some of the best features.
The offer entitles new and returning subscribers (who haven't subscribed in the last 2 years) to the FIRST 3 MONTHS FOR THE PRICE OF 1 across all products. If you're looking for an annual subscription you can also get 14-MONTHS FOR THE PRICE OF 12.
To take advantage of this offer, simply head to choose the product you wish to sign up to and add special code ntbf22 into the blue promo code box on the basket view screen before you check out. Once you hit the "Ëœenter' button, the basket item will change to show the Black Friday offer has been applied.
If you would rather talk to a human, just call 0800 052 1515 and quote my code to one of the team at ShareScope.
As ever with SharePad and ShareScope, all subscribers are entitled to a free one-to-one training session with an expert.
If you go for this offer and it doesn't work, please let me know. Good luck!

It's that time of the year when you can add 20k into an isa.
It is an amazing tax perk and we are very lucky to have it, I am especially grateful and remember the feeling a while back when I made the first tax free million in one!
I use Barclays, IG and Interactive Investor for mine.
Interactive Investor have a referral thing for the moment so if you want £125 of fees taken off let me know - available for anyone who invests 10k plus.
On the referral I apparently would get £200 into my account so a win win for both of us?
If you want to go for the referral and the money off email me at robbiethetrader and will send you details of how we can do it.

***Research tree discount offer: 20pc off.***
I really can recommend it as it is a big help and complements the brilliant stockopedia, the only other site I recommend.
So this site has broker notes on companies, plenty of in depth research. You can find things such as pre-tax profit forecasts and the most shorted companies. There's an easy search facility and also a news feed.
So for example on the morning of a share result or statement you can get a broker report on that share, it is really useful! Broker reports are usually very in depth and I especially like being able to see a full year pre tax profit forecast which seems impossible to get elsewhere.
You can get a limited free account - for full access if you like it - click "upgrade" and there is a 20 per cent discount if you type nakedtrader into the discount code box.
The address is - for the discount remember the code nakedtrader after you ask to upgrade. If you upgrade let me know if the upgrade thing works well and is easy or if you encountered any probs getting the 20pc off.
For small caps try Spreadex say for the moment they will carry on with most of the shares so that could be another place to deal in shares IG won't.
Trades made for my sipp are exclusively available on my email service (this is the website stuff plus exclusive trades mailed to you earlier on update days). For subscription details mail me

Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
