It's new!! Podcast no 5 is ready!

Includes lots of chat about shares, scams, how to be a dragon to make money, plus a £100 competition, top tens, spot the intros, nostalgia corner and loads of laughs. Plus experienced investors have tips for beginners and investment ideas - settle down and spend

Sweet Caroline... duh duh duh... football's coming home.. wasn't it brilliant last night!

I'm sure you all watched it and could hardly believe we did it. Sunday night is going
to be exciting, more thoughts on it all below somewhere.

If your name is Caroline and you're getting married, does it now mean Sweet Caroline has
to be played at the wedding? Or would that be naff? Tricky one!

My recovery from the trauma of the operation continues using mind-body techniques.

Although it is two steps forward, one step back if I was a share, the chart would
be in a general uptrend!

And because of this uptrend I reckon it's time to record the NT podcast number five!
And your contribution could win you some cash..

As usual love to have your participation in this, you can email me or happy to take
your recorded contributions, I take anything. There's £100 on offer for what I reckon
is the most entertaining contribution.

Remember it is music, clips and entertainment as well as finance and shares so anything
goes. Is there a favourite comedy clip you would like to hear? Anything on TV recently
you liked or hated.

Have you any advice for would be investors/traders?Stuff you got wrong and
stuff you did right?

Now freedom is nearly here, what one song would get you up and dancing to celebrate?

What share do you think will be well higher six months from now and why?

What has been your biggest ever loser and what did you learn? What chance of England
winning next year's World Cup? Who and what annoys you and why?

Or absolutely anything else you like you think might be entertaining or interesting.

Send any contributions to me at robbiethetrader with "Podcast" in the
subject line. Or, remember send it on a voicefile. Give it a go: you might be a winner.

For hints this was the last one

Wow. I actually had some real friends actually visit me at home.

How lovely that was - I have missed seeing people a lot - we were all
double jabbed. Still all done in the garden just in case.

At least just before lockdown in late 2019 I had a massive boat party with
lots of friends present and comedy and fun. Hopefully in 2022...

Indeed, I have been out for my first proper meal for months - a decent meal at
the local pub - lovely to be out again and among people! The food was tremendous
as well.

I do like people and I have really missed them - and friends - and had first visits
from friends too which was lovely. While I have enjoyed meeting some of you virtually
on zoom seminars it isn't quite the same as a visit from a friend.

With freedom date coming up, I am sure there will be a lot of mental health takes with
some probably scared to go out again after such a long time indoors. There's going to be lot
of mask vs no mask factions.

The Mrs had her car stolen under strange circumstances. It was a bit weird because three days previously
she'd had a car go into the back of her as she was stopped at traffic lights.

The driver seemed a bit agitated and strange. Then she was contacted by the police saying it was an undercover police officer involved. After a lot of goes she got hold of the copper involved and tried to sort out insurance stuff.

Then strangely shortly after, the car disappeared from outside the house. Odd because why steal a car with a massive dent in the back?

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but it does seem odd. Was said officer texting or something and could have lost her job if an insurance claim was made? I dunno.

I am glad some of you have tried the eco glass bottles and tablets to clean your home rather than plastic land fill bottles.

Remember as I said last time I invested in Homethings and even the cleaner says they clean well, which is high praise indeed.
If you would like to try a Homethings pack I have a fiver off link here for you (hope it works) just click here:

You get the three lovely glass bottles and your starter kit of tabs to get cleaning knowing nothing will go into landfill.
I enjoyed two lovely online seminars with some of you - they really cheer me up after being stuck at home without seeing many people for so long.

We managed some fun and banter online, and I was amazed at the number of great looking trades that came up. At the advanced lovely to see so many of you I have had a drink with at the bar at that certain hotel!

There is a new date if you missed it - July 28th. I thought do one during the school hols for those of you who can't make it during term time. Mail me if interested. Hopefully this will especially suit teachers! Mail to robbiethetrader with "July seminar interested" in the subject line. Remember i am beamed direct to your home!
Jas, thanks for your mail as you've been to two zoom seminars.

Just wanted to say thank you for a couple of wonderful seminars.
Your seminars were brilliant. Delivered methodically and with just a simple honest approach to dealing with the markets. You've helped me immensely in sorting my trading plan out and finding a good and profitable way to trade. After many months trying to figure out level 2, you sorted that out in one afternoon.

Since the seminar, I have placed 5 trades, 2 have closed out with profits and 3 are still running with profits. All trades placed using fundamental research and not Youtube videos
from David:

Well it doesn't happen often, but I am absolutely speechless! I don't think I have ever spent a more worthwhile day nor spent money more wisely and gladly.

I for one was practically at the point of orgasm all day in my enjoyment and appreciation of what you were presenting! Even though I have read NT time and again, to see you going through the process of stock assessment over and over was incalculably useful and I managed to take six A4 pages of notes during the day. I was fascinated to learn about (and see) Level 2 in action and learn more about Spread "ËœBetting'.

I thought the presentation balance was perfection, and Elizabeth was a complete star with her very well-judged handling of the questions....

.....This is a rather long-winded way of saying thank you so much to both of you - today was one of the top five most enjoyable days of my life, and I greatly look forward to joining you again!"

from Giles:

I just wanted to say thank you so much for the seminar last week. It was exactly what I needed to give me the additional confidence I need having read your books. You managed the almost impossible task of making a full day on a Zoom call really enjoyable and importantly, really useful. I also think the way you worked together to cover off all the questions the group had throughout the day was fantastic."

For those of you who missed that one, the next will be March 17th, and
anyone welcome to spend the day with me and Elizabeth. Mail for details
at robbiethetrader with "March interested".

Elizabeth has been brilliant for the electronic sessions, asking me the hardest
questions put by attendees in the all the day chat room a la Jeremy Paxman. She also does some
great sorting out of any tech problems delegates have.

Naked Rambling

Well, we had Brexit remainers and leavers and we are soon going to have new factions:
maskers or non-maskers.

It seems reasonable to me to let people use their brains for when to use one and when not.

For example if you are in an empty tube train then no need. But if you are in a full carriage you might consider wearing one.

Lots of different science on it too: quite a few scientists reckon masks don't make a whole load of difference.

I suspect though after 19th there will be fights and altercations between someone wearing a mask and someone not.

I hardly do any shopping and not using public transport either so easy for me at the mo.

Sadly though there is going to be a lot of mask wearers vs non mask wearers bust ups.

The Euros really have provided a lot of entertainment and can you believe England is
in the final!

Lots of high drama and some really fantastic games and some dramatic penalty shootouts.

Great to see some of the unfancied teams knock out the fancied.

OK we got a bit of luck last night but we definitely deserved the win. What a nail biting
last part of extra time.

The most dramatic of course when Harry Kane missed the penalty but got it in on the
rebound, brilliant!

Can we beat Italy? Yes! But Italy is a very good team and it's going to be a great match
which could easily go either way.

But just maybe home advantage can push us over the line for a big boost to the
country. So, come on Ingerland, football might come home and all that.

Gary Lineker has taken a pay cut, the poor lad is now only getting £1,400,000.

Yep how many licence fees is that for someone to do a few links - and he only works Saturdays!

Alan Shearer gets an eye popping £400,000. Surely us licence payers could suggest there are
a load of decent football commentators out there who'd do it for £50,000!

Hell, Harry Rednapp would do it for £500 (used fivers only please).

Most days if you don't like sport you are well and truly stuffed with hardly anything
on TV. Some nights for non sports fans it's tennis on one side and football on the other.

And Amazon and Netflix have nothing new recently that's really great either - so given
that here are a few bits and pieces!

Ice Road (***) Amazon
Brand new action movie featuring Liam Neeson. It's not bad, a bit like a mini Die Hard
on Ice.

If you suspend the usual disbelief that the main characters appear to amazingly evade
being killed while dozens of extras die it's enjoyable enough if you like a bit of action.
Straightforward story, with one twist that is decent.

Sex/Life (***) Netflix
A lot of opinions around regarding this Netflix bonkbuster. Hot wife with hot
husband gets bored with having everything most people would be jealous about
and decides to go for an open relationship.

Lotta sex here, most of which you better be careful of copying if you are over 40. Episode three features a giant prick - and I am not talking Matt Hancock.

Dragons Den (****) BBC 1
Hasn't this got better with age? Not sure why this series has been so interesting. But after all
this time why oh why don't the pitchers know their figures? How hard can it be?

Thank goodness Peter is back, smug though he is because I really prefer the smugness to stand
in Theo's grumpy git act. And well done to Theo for making precisely zero offers during his
three episode stint.

I suppose I am happy as for the first time as detailed elsewhere I invested my own money and I am
in there with Peter and Deborah!

Bosch (****) Amazon.
If you have't come across this before and you like detective series this is pretty decent. |Bosch is
a no nonsense detective who boldly goes where others won't. Nice sideline plot re his daughter.
Series 7 is new for Amazon, but would suggest starting with series 1 and binge it.

The Crossing (****) Amazon
Watchable if a bit silly - refugees arrive from 200 years in the future. If you can buy that time
travel could exist and you can ignore plot contrivances then there are plenty of thrills and
spills here - 21 episodes all told in one story with no second series.

The Handsmaid's Tale (****) CH4
Fourth series for this one and it continues to enthrall as June somehow manages to
stay alive in the horrible Gilead. The best character has to be Aunt Lydia .

Her passive aggressive horridness is wonderfully portrayed. Hey and June managed
to knock out 6 commanders. That's our girl!
The Hancock debacle could have been a lot worse. Let's face it, he could easily have got
the last four letters of his name out. That's a thought that can't be unthought.

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.

****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Includes lots of chat about shares, scams, how to be a dragon to make money, plus a £100 competition, top tens, spot the intros, nostalgia corner and loads of laughs. Plus experienced investors have tips for beginners and investment ideas - settle down and spend
some time with the Naked Trader!

Well, it's the same theme I have been describing for some time. The main markets
appear rangebound, not sure whether they should be pushing higher or diving lower though definitely in dive mode today.

Whenever it tries to crash down on inflation fears money comes in and any rot is stopped. So far.

It's having that dive lower day today on renewed inflation fears but even with that fall today the FTSE still remains around 7,000 area.

We're entering the summer trading period which can be difficult as liquidity can drop off causing faster gains and falls than usual. If you like a certain share it can take courage to hold on during a bad day when anything falls.

There are often heavy falls then massive comebacks on nothing. Fear and greed and all that. I'd wonder about going short of indices should falls continue.

Always worth a check through your portfolio as summer comes. Is there a dog or two in there you ought to get rid of?

It has been quite hard to lose money this year and quite easy to make it which is probably a warning sign a crash is coming some time.

There appears to be a lot of smugness/complacency about which
is also a warning. That includes me!

Given I've had an amazing ride up the temptation is to part bank some of the gains over the summer months. However I am still open to buying too if the right opportunity presents itself.

However I don't expect to be buying much now till September unless it really looks good.

A warning that multiple bitcon, and currency scams and teaching you how to make loadsamoney quickly scams continue all over the internet. Don't be caught out by these because of fear of missing out.

If you can avoid all this brilliant. If not, your fear of missing out will turn into the fear of all the money you lost by being tempted to make too much too fast on risky punts.

Listen to Uncle Robbie, seen this so many times - read my book "Trade Like A Shark" where I detail all the awful things that happened to so many over the years, it is almost like a thriller.
Read the stories and make sure you don't go down the same route

I have bought some Caretech CTH - a very interesting one - I already had a few in my
isa from way back which I completely forgot about. It's had a good run but potentially
there is still alot more upside to come.

It provides specialist social care and education services for adults and children, a decent
niche area. It is rapidly expanding and has openend 13 new children development centres with a very strong pipeline to come.

The downside to Caretech is its debt - however there is no likelihood of a bust as it
has massive net fixed assets of nearly double the debt. So despite the debt alone being
more than I would usually allow for, the fixed assets make up for it for me.

I bought some Entain. ENT. I took profits of over £3000 on this a while back and I've
decided to buy this afresh.

My reason is soon MGM can try another bid for Entain as the 6 months period is nearly
up and so it can make another bid. Brokers reckon a bid could come in between 20
and 25 quid a share. Entain rejected a bid saying it undervalued the company a lot and
indeed it did. This time I would have thought 23 quid would do it.

Today a very decent statement, it's ahead of expectations and says it plans to double
the workforce at its in house game development studios in the UK, India and Italy.

It is also developing gambling products for e sports fans which is a big market
among millennials.

Of course a possible bid is speculation on my part and so downside could be poor results and no bid! It is also FTSE 100 so could be hit by a FTSE slump. Perhaps this is a reminder to say it's crazy to try and follow what I do blindly - please spend time on your own research, your own plan and especially your own exit plan should
things go horribly wrong.

For example when I do the online seminars the very first thing we look at on discussing a share is - what is the downside and when do I get out! The risk and a share plan are the first two things to look at - the last thing is a target and upside! Safety first!

I took advantage of a dip in the share price of K3C and bought some more despite already nearly much more than doubled on it. An oversubscribed £10m fundraise shows a lot of demand for these shares from institutions and even better a big smallcap fund, Miton, took a lot of shares in the raise.

It's the kind of small software company that could attract a bid in the future and there could easily be another 50pc upside here and I hold a decent amount. Targets from brokers on research-tree have targets in the mid 400s.

I have also averaged up (remember I am an average upper not downer) in Alumasc (ALU).

Despite recent share price rises, it doesn't look expensive and I think there is more upside
to come here. It is in a market sweet spot with continued strong trading for its building products.

New build market is very strong and ALU is taking advantage of that and also export sales are booming. I'd be targetting well over 300p for this one. The shares are nice and very liquid so easy to buy and sell loads.

Totally (TLY) shares put out a decent statement and just waiting on profit takers to leave before adding a few more as it seems like a nice long-term winner.

I am looking to short new market entrant Wise as soon as the rise is done.
WISE looks like it has come in on a nuts valuation. Valued at £8bln
on profits of £41m ! OK, I know this one is growing fast but £8bln???

Also it won't go into the FTSE because of its weird share structure.

I managed to get a short on Made dot con at last. Then cruelly it was taken from me.

This company is way overvalued - -priced like a tech company when all it does is sell
online furniture. One of many companies that have floated to take advantage of the
bump up in sales created by Covid.

When things get back to normal it is going to look crazily overpriced and my valuation of it is about half the current price.

Would you believe it, literally just got a mail from IG saying it "has no inventory" in Made and "no borrow"
in the market and I have to close out by end of play. So I closed it for breakeven.

Interesting point - when you do have a short on spreadbetting they can call it in and force you to close out any time. To be fair it doesn't happen very often. Spreadex and Spreadco aren't doing Made either so I will just have to be patience and wait!

As I mentioned I feel more like taking
profits/losses then buying so here are some taken profits and losses.

I took final profits on both bids, Spire and Vectura as rival bidders haven't really come in with time running out.

So for the website that adds profits of £1,160 for Spire and £8,895 for Vectura. Total profits then for both overall weighed in just over £8,000 for Spire and just shy of £20,000 for Vectura. Farewell, and thank you both!

Tymn stop was raised to break even as it went up but went at around breakeven as it came down. Profits taken on Royal Mail of £1,918.

I've held ESGB for some time but had a good run, probably time to take profits so I did with a nice profit of £8,290.

Deliveroo short hit a stop and went for a loss of £360.

I took profits on the Games Workshop short of £6,900 as a trailing stop got hit as it began a rebound.

Elsewhere Sureserve (SUR) where I have a patient long-term holding announced today a super contract worth £36m with PA housing.

It continues to win nice contracts and I think Sureserve shares are worth north of 100p.
For those of you (most) who don't read my ramblings above may want a quick read
as there's £100 for the best contribution to the next NT podcast.

EG, what's your favourite share and why? Any tips to hand on to new traders?
And anything else you would like to contribute including any fun stuff you you like,
see top of page for more. Contributions to robbiethetrader with "Podcast"
in the subject line.

Onwards and hopefully upwards into the usually tricky summer period with more of a
watchful eye than any real desire to get stuck in as a buyer. I'll discuss summer trading with those of you "coming" to the zoom event on the 28th. Might be a good time to get ideas ready for September.

Money Week offer:

Money Week is a decent magazine which I get as well as the IC.

Shares wise there are quite a few features every week including what a fund manager is buying, all the tips from the papers are covered including places like the Telegraph, Times, Mail, Shares Mag etc and also IPOs are covered.

There is also a decent property and travel section. Also coverage of topics like pension planning, tech, spending and current and future economics.

There is usually a feature on a section of the market, last week it was biotech. There's plenty of interesting political and market commentary and more in depth articles.

The kind of mag I enjoy reading in the bath and I always find something that makes me have a think, and that's quite hard for me..

On the link there is also a decent discount so it's around £28-£32 for 13 issues depending on whether the mag is sent to you by post or digital or both. Personally I like an old fashioned mag for bath reading!

So- if you want the free six weekly issues and a discount the link is here:
>

Do let me know if any probs with getting the discount or freebies.

Spreadco is still paying 2pc interest up to £20,000 free cash which I enjoy getting and as we saw at the seminar its spreads on ftse 350 shares and the ftse always seem to be tightest.

**NEW OFFER: Research tree discount offer: 20pc off.***
As most of you are aware I don't take ads or recommend anyone apart from the
couple of firms I use all the time and trust.
I could probably make millions from agreeing to deals offered by forex cos,
dodgy systems et all. They're all con merchants and I would never ever sleep
at night if I just took their money, so I don't much to their bewilderment! That's
why you don't see any ads on the website.
However I actually approached a company to suggest I recommend them as long
as they gave my lovely readers a decent discount and it agreed.
The site is called research-tree and I really can recommend it as it is a big
help and complements the brilliant stockopedia, the only other site I recommend.
It is very hard as an investor to get hold of brokers notes/recommendations, their
in depth research on companies. Either it is expensive or there are silly rules re who
can access them.
So this site has broker notes on companies, plenty of in depth research. You can find things such as pre-tax profit forecasts and the most shorted companies. There's an easy search facility and also a news feed.
So for example on the morning of a share result or statement you can get a broker report on that share, it is really useful! Broker reports are usually very in depth and I especially like being able to see a full year pre tax profit forecast which seems impossible to get elsewhere.
You can get a limited free account - for full access if you like it - click "upgrade" and there is a 20 per cent discount if you type nakedtrader into the discount code box.
The address is - for the discount remember the code nakedtrader after you ask to upgrade. If you upgrade let me know if the upgrade thing works well and is easy or if you encountered any probs getting the 20pc off.

Ig created a stir among traders by axeing coverage of 900 odd shares. Customers were forced onto 100pc margin and many have not long to close them out,
It said it was forced into it by its own broker - I suspect sb firms are alarmed by the Gamestop palava and they've been inundated with too many new accounts chasing the same pump and dump shares.
Out of the 900 axed shares I only held two and am allowed to hang on as a "pro" trader.
Actually an interesting list of mostly rubbish and I suspect those forced out might be glad eventually!
There are some surprise bigger shares in there that IG will no longer deal in so for those of you who mailed me re other accounts I suggest

>

for the top 350 shares, spreads are often the best and it will deal in most 350 shares and some that IG won't. It also pays 2% interest on free cash up to 20k paid monthly.
For small caps try Spreadex say for the moment they will carry on with most of the shares so that could be another place to deal in shares IG won't.
Those who moan about 100pc margins, well I do suggest in my SB book not to use margin much - the sb firms can any time ask you to go 100pc. If this is a worry and you do not have the money to cover look on it as a warning and stop using too much leverage ok! (Yes Robbie stop being horrid to me).
Trades made for my sipp are exclusively available on my
email service (this is the website stuff plus exclusive trades mailed
to you earlier on update days). For subscription details mail me

There is lots more really fantastic material and I believe access should help investors and I now use it myself.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
