Getting ready for a trip to Dubai to see our son for his 21st birthday.
21 !! And what's he doing in Dubai?
Well, he pissed off there straight after school and he is busy making his fortune.
His plan is to return to the UK in five years to start his family. Talk about focus.
I'll be packing for Dubai 10 minutes before we go.
T-shirts, shorts, laptop, suntan lotion, toothbrush, yorkshire t-bags, emergency twix.
Can't think of anything else. Anyone??
Ah, 30 degrees, sunny, pool, beach.
Dubai, awful isn't it?
You'll be grumpy for 2-3 days," warned Nick the dentist as he was about to drill out an infected tooth.
I'll be fine," I said brightly. I've had teeth out before.
I know the drill.
Huh! I'm used to pain, I'm a share trader after all.
I went to pay the bill. £720. Now I'm grumpy.
But it did include a bone graft whatever that is.
Let's not forget the 3k the implant is going to cost either in 6 months.
Still: get home and milk it, no putting out the bins for me this week.
Then after all my complacency I did have it bad.
Serves me right: you reap what you sow and the 1000's of twixes I've eaten are now taking their revenge.
I tried not to be grumpy but it did hurt for a few days and it's just getting better now.
I had to do "salt baths" which are a pain. Antibiotics which upset the tummy.
You're thinking: Is he ever going to stop whining.
And if he doesn't stop whingeing and whining like a premier league footballer I'm cancelling my subscription to the Naked Trader website.
Oooh, hang on. Subscription! Yes, good idea. Time I made money off this site.
No, bad idea. Once people start to pay for things they're entitled to ask for things.
I couldn't just say "Sorry off to Dubai, next update delayed, see ya!"
Trustpilot contacted me accusing me of writing a fake review!
I wrote a nice review of Zipcar after they refunded us a big amount which we ran up by mistake.
And generally the service has been fine, So I wrote a reasonably nice review.
But two weeks after the review I got a mail from "fabricatedreviews" at trustpilot saying they deleted my review as I was a fake.
I mailed back with a bank statement giving evidence.
No reply after a week.
Miffed, I wrote back arguing I gave them evidence they asked for how's about re-instating it.
Nothing. Despite the evidence nothing back from them.
My final mail I offered a review of trustpilot.
Its fake review algoes don't work. No stars."
I don't really care and have given up expecting a reply. Pretty crap though, right?
In revenge I've shorted Trustpilot shares, and that's going well!
Went to Fulham FC's new restaurant called Brasserie Constance.
Incredible, a real knockout place, a 10 out of 10.
And this isn't because I'm a Fulham fan.
The head chef comes from the ultra brilliant Trinity restaurant and his experience shows.
The room itself is a knockout as is the location overlooking the river. And it's not even that pricey.
The variety is staggering. And lots of fun things too.
Given I'd just had a tooth out and asked for something mushy the waiter immediately suggested the famous dish Omelette Arnold Bennett.
It was perfect. Elizabeth had a delicious skate wing.
There are lots of fun snacky things including Skate Nobs (ooh er) and some little tarts (stop it now).
And for pudding the Baked Alaska is a sensation.
If you're ever visiting London it's worth a visit, hard to find, park at the front of Fulham FC and then find the little passageway round the back (stop it you dirty thing.)
As it happens yesterday a spreadbet firm just called asking to take me out to lunch.
Brasserie Constance" I said. Agreed. Nice!
I'll order a load of the most expensive things and then not do a deal with them.
We should be doing another retreat sometime next year.
Places are limited to only ten and you need to apply for one, we chat to you and make sure it's right for you.
If you want to be on an interested email me at robbiethetrader with "2026 retreats interested". We'll then put you on a list to contact next year and allocate places on a first come first served basis.
People keep asking me which broker to use for their new ISA.
I use mainly Interactive Investor and Barclays and IG.
Interactive Investor is my favourite, I also have my SIPP with them.

Lots of people trying side hustles at the moment.
Actually it was side hustles that helped me quit work for good in 2001.
My best was and still is Telecom Plus which trades as Utilities Discount Warehouse.
You can sell energy, sim cards, mobiles, broadband and insurance wfh.
You get commission per customer plus an ongoing commission every time they use
a service for as long as they remain a customer.
No stock needed, all done online. If you're good with people and don't mind a lot of

My young son is doing it and is roaring away with 20 customers already.
You're backed by a billion plus FTSE 250 company and it's rated well by Which Magazine for good deals and excellent customer service.

Thanks for the feedback from recent events.
Gary:
The arrangements and agenda were first class, delivered with Elizabeth's charm and efficiency and Robbie's natural charisma. The drill down on all the stock trading ideas
really cemented the knowledge received from the beginners seminar and all
merited the further investigation Robbie and the group undertook.
Having a look at Level 2, DMA and Spreadbetting was very much appreciated.
The day flew by and finished far too soon. I'm convinced I am now a better stock picker and trader as a result of both days with Robbie."
Anne:
My husband and I had a lovely time. We learned so much, the hotel was great and the lunch fantastic. We didn't leave the bar till midnight!
Dave:
I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long. Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!
I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener."
Phil:
The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question. Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own. Brilliant!
Naked Rambling
The Government continues to implode.
How oh how can it keep making so many mistakes?
Sadly, most of the politicians appear to be of poor quality and it's hard to imagine any of them running anything, let alone the country.
They just seem to enjoy being on the telly, arguing with each other than much else.
I thought this new Government was going to be straight and true and answer questions properly. No such luck.
Yet again just like the last terrible lot there's massive in fighting and not much being done to improve things.
At last the boss man of the BBC has gone, along with the boss news lady.
Much deserved. That Panorama edit was pretty bad and anyone who'd had that treatment would have been annoyed.
But boss man.. Instead of properly apologising he blamed some kind of conspiracy out to get him.
Why couldn't he just say sorry properly. We got these things wrong, they were bad mistakes and we need to do better, something like that.
No, it wasn't really our fault, it's all the fault of those who hate the BBC etc.
There's been a ton of bad decisions.
It's obvious there's a bias and it's time for a change.
Thing is though, the upcoming generations don't even watch terrestrial TV anymore.
It's all Tik Tok and there is no concentration span. Kids of my son's age wouldn't even dream of bothering with TV, perhaps only for the football.
The BBC will slowly die and everything will be subsciption
For now though it's a debate as to how it's kept on. And it does have some great shows.
And its news output can be decent too at times. Its recent expose of the vape shops was excellent.
It is good to have a national TV channel if it was unbiased but maybe time for it to take some sponsorship.
I mean why can't a Radio 1 and 2 DJ just say "today's show is sponsored by Ryanair, it guarantees to piss you off".
It needs to make money and it should be able to do that while remaining unbiased.
Pluribus ***** Apple
The most miserable person on earth* must save the world from happiness is the premise from Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad.
It's a fantastic piece of work featuring Rhea Seahorn star of Better Call Saul.
The usual trademark Gilligan style: lots of slow scenes and shots of average life going on.
This is sure to build slowly into Breaking Bad style quality over time, if you were a Breaking Bad fan, might be worth getting an Apple sub. You'll get Slow Horses too then.
*Probably a share trader.

From the sublime to"¦. Watching the worst 20 minutes of a film ever made before switching off.
People shoot others for no reason then they start shooting aliens who despite being superior somehow miss all their shots during more fighting for no reason.
There is no character development and it makes no sense.I took one for the team here and you can save yourself 20 minutes, don't mention it.
Down Cemetery Road *** Apple
New series based on Slow horses writer Nick Herron's other books
This one features the new Jackson Lamb, Emma Thompson who has the same scruffy un hygienic and cynical attitude though she's not farted violently yet.
Female characters get the plumb roles here while the men are reduced to being total idiots, or corrupt politicians. (Fair enough).
A slow start but so was Slow Horses so while not so great so far I suspect as it proceeds it will become a must view.
All She Wants **** Netflix
Decent new thriller about 5 year old child who has been snatched.
We know who did it but why?
Stars whats her face off Succession who is excellent.
It's meant to be set in Chicago but it was filmed in Australia.
Check out the dreamy kitchens, my female readers.
Leonard And Hungry Paul **** BBC 2
An excellent laid back and reflective gentle comedy, very refreshing.
It's a bit like "The Detectorists": two Irish 30 somethings struggle to find partners and a meaning to life, still living with their mums.
Lovely humour, some sharp lines and great acting.
For an undemanding relaxing half hour, hard to find much better right now.
Residents of Prince Andrew Street have appealed for a name change.
Can't really blame them and I suggest residents of these real roads in the Uk ask for a change too:
I mean if you lived in one of these wouldn't you?
Willey Lane, Spanker Lane, Dick Place, Crotch Crescent. Fanny Street and Hooker Row.
My preferred would be Stop Loss Street.
2 million pupils are about to get access to an online Shakespeare curriculum.
To text, or not to text"¦ that is the question..
(Don't is the answer. Especially if you are heading towards me on the pavement).

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Markets
Thank goodness the Budget is nearly here.
Many shares have been de-rated but I suspect once it's out of the way things will go up.
After all, we have a pretty good idea of what will happen.
Growth of, erm, 0.1 pc announced this morning.
The Budget will see a new load of taxes and I am sure this will all help to improve growth, a brilliant plan you must agree.
There is some excitement about ipo's, new market listings.
I'd love to buy some new shares listing on the exchange.
But: they are all stupidly priced with no room for growth and it is time companies listed with realistic valuations.
Very disappointing when The Beauty Tech, a reasonably decent company listed at a silly price that was way too high.
No surprises the shares have been merrily going south.
Then there's Princes - the valuation here again is way too high, again a fine company and I buy its lovely tins of tomatoes.
But its statement yesterday? No way.
When a company starts at the top talking "Ebita" (BS earnings) you know it's overvalued. It also raised a ton of money and still has net debt.
Pre-tax profits? Not mentioned. Funny that.
Worse it was bought for £700m last year and now a year later it's worth £1.2bln. Pull the other one!
Shame it's hard to get shorts on new issues.
But until new issues are priced properly they are best left alone.
The US volatility spilled over to the UK market the last couple of weeks and probably the best action was to not do much.
Usually the fag end of November and beginning of December sees falls building to the usual "Santa rally" (normally works 8 years out of 10).
A few smaller cap quality companies have been down a bit.
Probably due to so many fund withdrawals causing forced sales.
Withdrawals due to budget fears and sipp withdrawals as some decided to take their tax free money even though Rachel from Accounts has confirmed a reduced payout won't happen.
Of course that is the time to take advantage and probably this is a good time to look for small caps that have gone down just because of this, there are bargains about!
And there is the old phrase: Investing is all about the transfer of shares from the impatient to the patient. Or something like that.
Had a bit of cash to spare after making/banking the 25k plus profit on Alpha after it got bid for.
Looked at some of the shares that came up at the last seminar and one or two looked interesting.
One that I'd shortlisted was Water Intelligence and I bought a few after a good look.
Its main business is water leak detection which is becoming a bigger business than you'd imagine.
It looks very nicely rated at under 10 pe with a low PEG.
Adjusted profit before tax is up 68pc according to last week's statement with a net debt not bad at $23m after acquisitions.
Management aims to deploy capital to grow both organically and with more acquisitions.
Looks like a very nice isa tuckaway for a year or two unless question marks appear.
Also a buy was an interesting one - MHA.
I like the sector: tax, accountancy, audits and advisory.
Given the current government's propensity for making tax rises and push in yet more tax regulations and red tape this should benefit MHA.
And with lots of wealthier businesses/people looking to flee the UK after the budget you'd expect MHA to be picking up a lot of new business!
I personally know wealthier people already planning to flee and they all will need tax advice.
Indeed one is in Milan this very weekend intending to flee there. Someone else is in Malta where there's a flat tax.
Its trading update on Halloween day was no horror show, indeed no demons there at all.
Indeed it says increasing regulatory complexity is driving profits.
Results are due sometime later this month and in this climate it can be a bit risky to buy shares ahead of results but happy to take the risk.
I added Bloomsbury.
Mainly as looking at level 2 there were quite a few buyers about which makes me wonder if there is more good news on the way after the recent upbeat statement.
Shares are still way lower than the highs, and I see no reason why they shouldn't head back to the late 500s.
I shorted shares in Diageo after they went up strongly as a new boss starts next year.
Given the company is going badly and the new boss will have to take time to turn things around it seemed sensible to short into the strength.
I reckon they will gradually fall back to where they were before the new boss was announced.
I've shorted the FTSE. It may well get to 10k but it seems awfully high and any black swan event could see a big tumble.
I used TN which has a nice tight 0.8 spread.
To short using TN link here
>
But please read my Spreadbet book first to learn how to do it.
Link here:
Profits have been taken in Elix - £ 934 and Luce - £1,180.
Me Group went down after a statement where revenue was a slight miss. A more recent top up got kicked out for a loss of £164. Shame as it had been in a good profit.
However I have kept hold of quite a few shares originally bought a lot lower including some bought at about half the current price.
Indeed it's tempting to re-buy, the company is inviting offers and I guess those would have to be in the 230-250p area given it's a nice stable business. Looks a good chance at lower levels for a bidder to nip in and get it cheap.
Recent video game buys Everplay and Frontier went different ways!
Frontier issued an ahead of statement and shares are up nicely, Everplay has dropped a little but I am (just) sticking in there.
Dot Digital posted some very strong results, everything looks good and it looks very cheap.
Shares rose a bit on the news but have fallen back a little and look bargain levels.
I am very excited regarding not only screens I've been working on with Sharescope but also cutting down time and effort finding and evaluating shares.
It's nearly done: the idea is everything I usually look at all on one page.
No more flitting from one site/area to the next, everything needed, just one screen.
I hope all will be revealed on December 8th at the hotel seminar - Sharescope's top geek will present it, and we'll be looking at further tweaks with hopefully ideas from those attending.
Then early next year I should have it totally ready. Stay tuned!
30-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers only.

Nice comment from Craig who attended the last online seminar:
Thank you for a great day on Friday. As a beginner, and half way through reading your Naked Trader book, I was a little apprehensive I would be overwhelmed with the day.
But quite the opposite, great pace and pitched at the right level for everyone online. Seeing Robbie select shares to investigate and even place some buys and top up existing shares has given me the confidence to do it myself.
I would highly recommend to any beginner and I will hopefully join again sometime in the future to top up my knowledge."

I've now finished reading The Trading Game.
Boy, what a gripper!
Definitely makes me glad I never ended up on a trading floor.
The cast of real-life characters there is not a pretty one!
Full time traders seem to be either alcoholics, drug abusers, loners, weirdos, passive-aggressive alpha males, know it alls or just a bit barmy.
And they are all certain of their own brilliance...
Frankly just check any of the discussion forums, all these characters are there..
Anyway, super read and a must buy for anyone interested in trading!

SPREADBETTING
I discovered a SB firm that does just 0.6 on the FTSE and tight spreads on 100 and 250 shares, also handy right now if you are shorting given the such tight spread
Just a 0.6 spread for the FTSE which is fantastic and the best I've found.
Spreads on FTSE 100 and 250 stocks are really tight, I shop around SB sites when I am about to trade for the best spread and this one keeps coming out the best.
Here's the link if you want to sign up, on this link the lovely Lorenzo will help out if you run into trouble or make a fat finger trade.

I've finished the book on AI - "The Coming Wave".
It's a must read for any investor - I've learned a lot, the writer co-founded Deepmind, one of the world's leading AI cos.
It's fascinating, some of the conclusions are scary and it's good to try and understand it, though in the end he concludes AI will being a lot of benefits. It will also drive some shares down and some up.

The steering lock we were recommended and bought you can get from amazon, link here:
I love companies with decent cash piles and I've developed a screen for shares with cash with Sharepad to go with my new book.
The screen goes with one of my strategies from the new book "Dash for Cash".
The idea is it picks up sensible shares with a cash pile for further examination.
I don't mean it to be "just buy any share on the screen." My idea is it's a start for further research as just because a company has a cash pile doesn't necessarily mean it's a great company.
If you don't have Sharepad you can try a free trial using the link below, if you think it is useful after the trial you get a decent discount on the link and can pay monthly if you want.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
