People keep asking me which broker to use!
I use mainly Interactive Investor and Barclays and IG.
Interactive Investor is my favourite, I also have my SIPP with them.
Easy to use, and stop losses work well, plus cheap charges.
II has sent me a referral link if you want to try it for an ISA or SIPP.
If you add in more than 10k, you get a free year's subscription with them worth quite a few quid and I get £200 into my account.

Can't wait to see some of you online on Dec 2nd for the beginners/improvers online seminar.
And the NT Xmas lunch special at a hotel, I can see lots of regulars are coming and some of you who've been on retreats with me.
Look forwards to seeing you all for a day of live markets and the Xmas rally preparations.

A trip "to the country" to see some lovely friends I've known oh, forever.
In fact we were trainee journalists together up in Birmingham all those years ago.
They bought a rundown cottage and are transforming it into a picturesque beauty of a place.
I'm just not a country boy at heart though.
I don't mind seeing greenery and going for country walks, for a bit.
But then I yearn for the city.
Things are just happening there.
We went out for a country meal in a country road.
Hotels and pubs vie for your business.
We end up in an Italian restaurant.
This guy, Pete, the owner. He's an amazing salesman.
I will give you now the number one piece of marketing genius I have seen at his place.
He does a Sunday roast. Who doesn't love a Sunday roast?
There are 3 pubs in the street he's in that do them for around £16-£18.
You get your meat and veg and gravy and probably a lot of it.
Pete is pretty much offering the same thing, but he's charging £35 for it.
And he's full even though you can pick up something similar for half the price.
How?
One word is the reason. He just used this one clever marketing trick word.
Bottomless".
Oh SO clever.
You think: "Ooooh bottomless!
I can eat as much of it as I want! Brilliant! And only £35!
Even more clever the marketing reaches bigger heights.
There's nothing to choose!
Yes, we just slam it down and you all get the same stuff.
Sounds great!
But Pete is the big winner given the pubs offer 4 meats and Pete only 2!
To be fair I haven't eaten the pub roasts or his.
Maybe it's possible his roasts are SO good.
(But unlikely to be worth double, there is only so much you can do with meat and veg).
The country hotel we were in gets an influx of bankers escaping London with their trophy wives on a Saturday.
They are supposed to check in at 3, but Land Rovers jam the car park by 2pm.
We were trying to leave but scowling bankers didn't want to let us out.
Frankly they all look pretty miserable.
Was rather glad to get away from them.
What I really enjoyed next was a visit to rundown Seaford, a kind of southern Blackpool without the arcades.
Instead of scowling bankers you get to meet standard people having a nice afternoon out.
A great visit to a local market where an old boy has a fab watch stand.
He'll mend your watch while you wait, put a new battery in, whatever you want.
I bought a nice one for £20. He gets his machine to check the battery is full.
Got a great cat toy too.
How much?" we asked. "£2," he said without looking up.
When he looked up and saw Elizabeth's outfit he added "I mean £3".
Well, I would have paid £10!
Cash is preferred in Seaford which is heartwarming.
The cafe which does great coffee and welsh rarebit has a sign.
Please pay in cash if possible. Card payments cause us big costs threatening our business.
With cash we get to keep 100pc of your payment."
Service in Seaford is brilliant and friendly. There is not a single scowling banker.
Go for a visit, the local ice cream is sensational.
I've come across another brilliant marketeer this time in the medical world more in the next update.
Lots of people trying side hustles at the moment.
Actually it was side hustles that helped me quit work for good in 2001.
My best was and still is Telecom Plus which trades as Utilities Discount Warehouse.
You can sell energy, sim cards, mobiles, broadband and insurance wfh.
You get commission per customer plus an ongoing commission every time they use
a service for as long as they remain a customer.
No stock needed, all done online. If you're good with people and don't mind a lot of
no thanks" could work for you.
My young son is doing it and is roaring away with 20 customers already.
You're backed by a billion plus FTSE 250 company and it's rated well by Which Magazine for good deals and excellent customer service.
If you think this could be a good side hustle for you, mail me with "side hustle" at robbiethetrader and will send you some info.
Thanks for the feedback from recent events.
Gary:
The arrangements and agenda were first class, delivered with Elizabeth's charm and efficiency and Robbie's natural charisma. The drill down on all the stock trading ideas
really cemented the knowledge received from the beginners seminar and all
merited the further investigation Robbie and the group undertook.
Having a look at Level 2, DMA and Spreadbetting was very much appreciated.
The day flew by and finished far too soon. I'm convinced I am now a better stock picker and trader as a result of both days with Robbie."
Anne:
My husband and I had a lovely time. We learned so much, the hotel was great and the lunch fantastic. We didn't leave the bar till midnight!
Dave:
I've been a teacher for the last 30 years and I'm not sure I could have kept a group of pupils so captivated for so long. Humour and in-depth subject knowledge go a long way!
I loved seeing your thought process in deciding which shares to trade and level 2 was also an eye opener."
Phil:
The seminar was delivered with huge integrity (there was Zero hidden agenda/ulterior motives, it was simple and open with some great laughs thrown in)
As much as I found myself trying to complicate the process and make it more sophisticated in my own tiny brain.
You also took the time to answer "every" question anyone posed. And it was every question. Loads of shares ideas to boot, but more importantly the process to find your own. Brilliant!
Naked Rambling
At last, Gary Lineker is leaving Match of the Day.
Nothing much against him, it's just that he wasn't worth £1.3 million of licencepayers' funds.
Although, he will still be taking the BBC money hosting FA and world cups and a podcast.
As any fool knows Match of the Day doesn't need to spend so much on pundits.
Fans just want to see highlights of the games.
Which, if you are a Fulham fan generally means 11.30pm as we are nearly always the last game shown.
Things are changing anyway and MOTD may become defunct as soon the BBC like Sky will show highlights soon after the games have finished.
Looks like game over for the "white powder" and calling Jurgen Klopp bad words ref.
Can't say he didn't bring it on himself.
Though a friend who works closely with refs isn't surprised given the abuse they get.
He says he was in the refs' room once and Klopp stormed in with a lot of "choice words".
So you can kind of see why he lets off steam.
But how idiotic to allow it to be recorded.
Lots of news stories around about how the value of DVDs is shooting up!
Yes, people want to own movies and music again properly.
If you buy a DVD the movie is yours foreever.
Streaming? It's lost foreever pretty much.
You can easily hand favourite movies or music down to the next generation.
Because of this, the prices of old DVDs are shooting up.
Then I remembered! I have thousands of DVD's of movies from 2001-2007 in storage.
When I owned a cafe during those years we rented out DVDs along with food and drink.
I remember some weekends we rented out nearly 100.
I used to nip to Blockbusters and buy the latest.
Not that we made much on them, but people came in to rent one then thought "I'll have some shepherd's pie to take home and maybe some popcorn and crisps too!"
I know I've got 6 of the top 15 most desirable movies on DVD.
The only thing is not sure what condition they will be in given they were rented out.
Here we go, first Xmas music has been heard (November 2nd) .
Luckily not effing Wham at least.
Time to up with another 6 weeks of awful music and desperate retail ploys to get us to part with the cash.
How many days can I make it on the annual "Whamageddon"?
It's the number of days you can make it without hearing it.
I got to the 14th December last year, ensuring no music stations.
I got knocked out because bloody Talk Sport played it.
Paris Has Fallen **** Amazon
Formulaic thriller with similar plot about a guy out for revenge who's going to blow up Paris.
But it's elevated by a remarkably excellent baddie played by Sean Harris.
This guy has got to be the next James Bond villain.
Lots of bangs and tension, if you like this kind of thing it's pretty good.
Disclaimer **** Apple
Stylish thriller with the usual amazing Apple kitchen any woman would die for.
Ingenious revenge plot as a man gets revenge on a woman he thinks responsible for the death of his son.
Fine performance from Cate Blanchett but Sacha Baron Cohen (ex Ali G) takes the honours with his portrayal of a deeply flawed man.
And of course Apple has much better kitchens than ITV. Which leads me to:
If I Kill You ***** ITV
..Which only has a stinker of a kitchen in it.
The remarkable true story of Delia Balmer who survived a violent relationship with a serial killer in the 90s.
Anna Maxwell Martin is remarkable playing hippy Delia.
Some grisly scenes though, but a story worth telling, a good watch.
New series of the excellent Silo starts tomorrow on Apple.
Do catch up with the first series first though. It's entralling.
A friend was about to travel to India but couldn't find his passport and missed out.
Both he and me realised though we have a lot of homing tags for baggage, cars and bikes, nothing for a passport!
Which is crazy!
Passports are our most valuable document and losing them or not being able to find them is a disaster.
I immediately bought a wallet and a credit card sized airtag to go inside.
It works brilliantly on the iphone.
I can now always locate my passport whether it is in the house or (hope not) I mislay it when travelling.

EMAILS: I do beg you not to send me emails asking me for advice on a particular share. It isn't legal for me to give you individual advice and all I do is send you a mail saying that, which wastes a lot of my time and yours too.
****
COPYING TRADES: I can't stop you from copying a trade I made but remember the price may already be a lot higher than I paid indeed I hope it is as buying at good prices is what I do for a living. You may be buying at the top and could easily lose money. Also I can make terrible mistakes and have done in the past. I could also sell before you or before the share tanks. I may still be holding in a year when you sold at a loss. Always do your own research, don't jump in blindly. Market makers are very clever at knowing how to make you pay top dollar and then push you out at a loss. This site is about sensible investment and learning how to trade sensibly and is not a tipping site. Beware. Never push buy on anything till you've done proper research and got yourself a sensible price.

Includes lots of chat about shares, scams, how to be a dragon to make money. Plus I am joined by AI robot Eli.
Well, whatever you think about him, Donald is a big hit for the markets!
Ok, the US markets anyway.
Despite the FTSE falling away and the DOW heading higher some UK shares have been doing well.
You just have to be in the right ones.
But it does look like the US is pulling away from the UK markets.
Why? Well the US is offering lower taxes, cutting red tape and encouraging enterpreneurs.
Here, it's the opposite. Higher taxes and disincentives everywhere to bother running a business.
I just don't know where the new Government thinks growth is coming from using its current tactics.
Sadly no-one much in government has ever run a business or even understands how to grow an economy.
I got warned about this a while back by someone I know close to government.
As they say about refs "They don't know what they're doing"!
(Especially if they like a sniff of the white stuff).
Anyway it's been a great couple of weeks for the portfolio, in real life I seem to be up more than 50k though not 100pc sure how!
So with all going well I haven't honestly been doing all that much work on finding anything new.
Even more honestly now a lazy fat cat I'm literally waiting for the two seminars in December to find some good ones spurred on by the audience!
People keep my nose to the grindstone all day especially at the hotel one on Dec 9th.
I've met so many of you before and so much looking forwards to a Xmas lunch and a drink after.
Let's find some great shares and I know many will come with great ideas.
November tends to be a weak month for gains so I'm a bit cautious anyway waiting to buy in early December.
But there are one or two opportunities around.
I always hesitate before buying a share which has gone down a lot.
I do prefer buying ones going up.
But, sometimes value looks too good to ignore so I have bought some Mony.
I will be very Mony for sure if I get stopped out of it.
It changed its name to Mony recently instead of moneysupermarket.
Ha ha you bought a share code "Mony".
Well at least it didn't have the code "POS".
Mony really does look value on all measures, though there is some net debt it's pretty low and coming down.
There's also a massive dividend of over 7pc.
But the business has problems: some sectors are going well but some aren't.
Indeed I'd argue it's a bit lacklustre, in that case why buy?
My reasoning is I think it needs a buyer to come in and sort it out and at this sort of price a ready buyer could.
A bigger rival I'd think could be tempted at these levels.
And if it keeps on going down I'll be out quick and I won't give it much leeway.
Science Group (SAG) is one of those shares no-one's really interested in.
It's very liquid, you can buy as many or sell as many pretty much as you want.
That's the kind I like, it means less volatility.
Recent statement also remained under the radar.
This international tech group is hinting in its recent statement it's looking at acquisitions partly from its cash pile.
If it can get this right, the value of the company will increase.
Increased NI contributions will cost it only 0.7m next year which isn't too bad.
Reason no-gets involved much in SAG is the share price doesn't move much.
And no-one's got any patience. I have though and will keep this tucked away.
Over time, the chart is firmly up.
I've added more Paypoint which I've discussed previously as being a good
An out of hours announcement which I nearly missed was that it's suddenly going into the FTSE 250.
That's because a different share became delisted leaving room for a new one and Pay was top of the pile.
This is great news as funds will have to buy in.
It also makes the shares more liquid and a good chance for a nice end to the year.
I'm hopeful of a tenner on this by year end.
Same comment to Craneware which is another top up, see last update for info on that one.
In the sales department, after a great run by M and S I have banked profits of £1,046.
Also banked profits of £678 in Yougov but losses of £210 in BILN and £138 in Kgh, they both hit raised stops.
Elsewhere nice moves up from YU Group which could break out over a previous high soon and still looks cheap.
YU goes ex div before month end for nearly 20p which is a bonus.
Cohort is trying hard to get above the 1000p level, looks like it could happen, if so potential nice move further.
Excellent move up from ME Group, still targetting 250 here.
With the UK looking lacklustre due to the poor reception to the Budget I've gone in for a FTSE short with an intention to switch to a long in December for the Xmas rally.
Yes, we're getting close to that Santa Claus rally time of year.
People often ask if the Xmas rally is some kind of myth.
No, it really isn't! It tends to work 9 years out of 10.
I think the last time it didn't work was 2019.
I'll be discussing how to play it in the next update and also in depth at the online seminar on Dec 2nd and the hotel one on the 9th.
In the meantime it may be worth setting up a SB account in advance to be ready.
TN only has a 0.6 spread on the FTSE and is easy to use link here:
>
I would also suggest getting my book on spreadbetting as it has loads on the Xmas rally.
This includes tons of worked examples, where to place stops and how to ensure you don't do your brains if it goes wrong.

Boy, what a gripper!
Definitely makes me glad I never ended up on a trading floor.
The cast of real-life characters there is not a pretty one!
Full time traders seem to be either alcoholics, drug abusers, loners, weirdos, passive-aggressive alpha males, know it alls or just a bit barmy.
And they are all certain of their own brilliance...
Frankly just check any of the discussion forums, all these characters are there..

I discovered a SB firm that does just 0.6 on the FTSE and tight spreads on 100 and 250 shares, also handy right now if you are shorting given the such tight spread
Just a 0.6 spread for the FTSE which is fantastic and the best I've found.

I've finished the book on AI - "The Coming Wave".
It's a must read for any investor - I've learned a lot, the writer co-founded Deepmind, one of the world's leading AI cos.
It's fascinating, some of the conclusions are scary and it's good to try and understand it, though in the end he concludes AI will being a lot of benefits. It will also drive some shares down and some up.

I love companies with decent cash piles and I've developed a screen for shares with cash with Sharepad to go with my new book.
The screen goes with one of my strategies from the new book "Dash for Cash".
The idea is it picks up sensible shares with a cash pile for further examination.
I don't mean it to be "just buy any share on the screen." My idea is it's a start for further research as just because a company has a cash pile doesn't necessarily mean it's a great company.
If you don't have Sharepad you can try a free trial using the link below, if you think it is useful after the trial you get a decent discount on the link and can pay monthly if you want.

Trade tables follow! Trades are current open and recently closed trades. Closed trades feature the closing price and the amount I won or lost. All others are open. Trades get updated a little later than the narrative. Trading costs are ignored, however I also do not add in dividend payments and with the kinds of companies I buy, dividends tend to equal or outweigh costs. Spread rollovers ignored for web purposes. Tables as accurate as poss however a mistake or two can creep in and very occasionally if I forgot I sold or bought something it will be added at a later time. Trades first reported in the diary under Markets every other Thursday afternoon.
